Providing sequencing solutions that operate at the frontier of genome sequencing technology.

Core business

Base5 Genomics is an early stage biotechnology startup working at the frontier of genome sequencing technology that reveal the full genomic diversity in humans and other organisms. They are motivated in enhancing the field of medicine by achieving personalized treatments for patients.

Base5 Genomics is organized as a computational team that works closely together with the molecular biologists in the wet lab. Working in this small team requires excellent communication skills and will give you the opportunity to be creative and show leadership in a broad range of subjects. Independence and out-of-the-box thinking are greatly encouraged.

About the company

Base5 Genomics, which spun out of Stanford University, is run by a small team (fewer than 10 people) out of a lab in Mountain View, CA. Solomon Endlich is the co-founder and CEO who runs the wet lab. He has a PhD in theoretical physics but spun to become a molecular biologist during his postdoc at Stanford University, where he laid the foundations of Base5 Genomics’ proprietary technology in the lab of professor Ashby Morrisson. Liza Huijse leads the data analytics efforts. She has a PhD in physics from the University of Amsterdam and held postdoctoral positions at Harvard and Stanford before entering the biotech startup industry as a computational biologist.
